Video clip: 'Vidrar Vel Til Loftarasa' ('Good Weather for Airstrikes')

Band: sigur rós

Filmed in Iceland, with an entirely amateur cast and the group making cameo appearances as the referee & score-keeper  'Vidrar Vel Til Loftarasa' tells a simple and emotionally charged tale of two adolescent boys' burgeoning feelings for each other,

'Vidrar Vel Til Loftarasa' translates to "Good Weather for Airstrikes" ... this video clip accompanied the single by sigur rós in October 2001.

And although "baby bambi's" appear in this video and the quality isn't that high: the overall story is striking and emotionally charged.... That made us decide to also publish it (the clip already pretty well known) at bambiboys.com.

Again this video does not contain any pornography......we still hope you all enjoy it!

We need to understand the soul of the people and the great things that they can do for the human kind before act

Not sure about the acceptance that Jason identifies. Could as easily be that mother and priest see him as a victim of the other 'active' boy.

The clip is moving and reminds of how difficult it was for me at that age. I was never able to reconcile the way I felt and have lived a half life ever since. I brought up my children to be free.

This is about the sixth time I've watched this video and each time it has made me cry. It is so beautiful; so damn sad.

There is a comment above about someone wanting to beat up the father and priest.

I would ask that you watch it again and realize that, as in most sigur ros' videos, that there is irony.

If you look, the Priest is calm and his son goes to his mother where she and the Priest both show acceptance.

It is a very short moment to catch, but it is there. Look again.

Very powerful, yet tender and engrossing to watch. Brings a whole new dimension to the Sigur Ros song for me.
